Reducing liability: Interiors & exteriors

Have you ever worn a helmet, seatbelt, or oven mitts? Most of us would say yes. But, what would happen if you're feeling lazy and decide to ride a bike, drive a car, or pull a hot pan out of the oven without that extra layer of protection? This would be similar to a restorer starting a job without taking the necessary measures to reduce their liability. Instead, be prepared and follow these key steps. They are designed to protect you, the homeowner, and your business. It's better to be safe than sorry.

STEP 1 -  Get the paperwork completed

Rushing into a job could mean you're taking on liability. The first step in reducing liability is to get the proper paperwork completed before beginning any work on the home.

STEP 2 - Conduct a Site Safety Assessment

A site safety assessment is crucial to protect the homeowner, your team, and anyone else on site. Make sure the worksite is safe and free of any hazards. New safety hazards can pop up every day, so make sure you take a few minutes to look things over before you begin working.

STEP 3 - Perform the Initial inspection

Before you even pull equipment off the truck, document the pre-existing conditions. Assessing the liabilities and pre-existing damage ensures you're covered.
